Digital media assets in book form
The boats sailing in the Whitbread Round the World Race generated lots of data as part of their 9-month sprint around the world: email, images, movies, and location data every 6 hours. We stitched their locations into a map of the world, divided the map into two-day increments, and sliced this map up as the basis for lush image/story/data narratives that told the story of this remarkable adventure.
The final book/map, when sliced apart and hung on the world, is over 30’ x 12’, and gives an graphic and narrative overview of the race that rewards viewing from multiple distances and angles.
